SENATE TO TAKE UP
ANTI SELF-DEFENSE AGENDA SOON

The Armed Informed Mothers' March took place on Sunday, May 14 on the grounds of the Washington Monument.  The turn-out was greater than we expected - almost 5000 people!  We want to thank everyone who decided that making the trip to DC was worth it.

The rally and march were covered by C-SPAN, which broadcast it on a tape delay, and by MSNBC, which was alternating live broadcasts between us and the MMM.  For a summary of the AIMM, and links to accounts of other marches in other cities, please see:

An important part of our campaign has been our Citizen Petition to Oppose Unconstitutional Gun Control. On Wednesday, May 17, three founding members of Second Amendment Sisters presented some 50,000 signatures to Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia.  The Congressman will, at the next Judiciary Committee hearing, have the names placed into the record, and urged us to keep the signatures coming.

So, if you thought it was too late to help, please continue to collect signatures at clubs, ranges, shops and shows.  You may download petition forms and flyers at:

Second Amendment Sisters now faces a daunting task - continuing the fight to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights and our basic human right to self-defense.  The Million Mom March will be merging with the Bell Campaign, and this new political lobbying organization will be pooling their resources in an attempt to make gun control an election year issue - and influence policy beyond the elections.

We at Second Amendment Sisters are in the process of organizing our efforts to bring common sense and fact back to the debate.  In the coming months we will be taking pro-active steps to encourage dialogue and educate the public.  Our goal is to have chapters in every state which will concentrate on local as well as national issues.  If you'd like to help in your state, please see:
