| summers of his youth
shooting targets and hunting rabbits
on his grandfather's farm in Clovis, California. This
was the beginning of a life-long interest in gun collecting,
gunsmithing, and gun restorations with a keen interest in cowboy
action shooting and single shot rifles. Bob
says he started gunsmithing when he couldn't find anyone in his
local area to do the type and quality of work that he
wanted. Having been a crew chief on a racing team and
working as an elevator mechanic most of his life, things
mechanical were not foreign to Bob and gunsmithing was an easy
transition where he was able to pursue his interest further and
graduate from the NRI School of Gunsmithing.
It's
hard for Bob to go to a shoot and just have fun because he has
built such a reputation for meticulous, honest work and trust that
shooters just come up to him and hand him their firearms and tell
him, "You know what I need done. Get it back to me next
time." And sure enough, Bob does.
Look
through the overview of Bob's expertise. His Ruger "Colterization"
is a process he developed himself and its success has exceeded his
wildest expectations. People who have been his "colterization"
and don't know that the firearms are really Rugers have come up to
him and exclaimed, "Nice pair of Colts!" That's
how good they look!
So look
around. If you don't see it here or your questions aren't
answered, give Bob a call at (714) 871-8171, fax (714) 871-8516 or email him at
info@walker47.com
and he'll be happy to help you out. Or, if you're in town, bring
your firearm in for any of Bob's services . . . if you're out of
town give him a call and he'll see what he can do.
