Born and raised in the South (well, Southern California that is) Jim “Simeon Reno” Wallace has been around shooting and firearms for practically his entire life.  At age 9 his mom and dad taught him how to shoot and hunt, and he’s been hooked ever since.

He became involved in cowboy action shooting early and in 1996 joined SASS, becoming a member of the “Reno Gang,” named after the first known train robbers of the Old West.  While Jim thinks he’s a good shooter with his 24” Marlin, when it comes right down to it, he’s shoots just like the rest of us – high mediocre – but to him the fun of cowboy action shooting, the people he’s met, and the camaraderie overshadow any championships he hasn’t won.

Before coming to Walker ’47 Jim was a dispatcher for a major trucking company for several years.  That gave him invaluable experience in organization and the ability to handle many tasks at once directing people going in all kinds of different directions.  Being an assistant high school wrestling coach taught him how to deal with people from the head coach on down to the last guy on the team.  Further, Jim has worked in gun stores since approximately 1992.  So combine his organizational skills with his multi-tasking (rare for a man, we admit), and his people skills, and you have the invaluable services of Jim Wallace.

We call Jim our “in-store services” guy.  He’s invaluable for organizing the stock and creating new displays to show off our products at their best.  His artistic talents are put to use making all our in-store signs (as he’s one of the few of us who can spell).  With his friendly demeanor and cowboy action shooting knowledge, Jim helps behind the counter and takes care of the store when Nasty Nick isn’t there.  Further, if you have something on order and just want to check the status, or if you want to place an order, Jim’s the one to corral.  We know you’ll find Jim friendly and honest to deal with.  So, if you need to contact Jim, you can call him at (714) 871-8171, fax (714) 871-8516, or just email him at info@walker47.com.
