     Medium Brown appears darker than Dark Brown because it contains more red than dark brown.

Lining Leathers:
     Holsters for cartridge pistols are lined with a smooth finish, top-grain, vegetable-tanned cowhide.  A rough-out or suede liner may catch and hold grit, sand, or other debris and cause scratches and wear.  A smooth liner doesn't trap debris.  It is the best surface to put against the surface of any firearm.

Border Tooling:
     Any leather item may be ordered with no tooling, fully tooled, with special embellishments (call for quote), or with a tooled border.  See "Border Tooling Samples" to get an idea of what styles are available.  #1 through #5 are no charge; #6 through #14 are $5 extra for any holster, $10 extra for any belt, and $25 extra for any saddlebag.  Floral stamps A-D are no extra charge.

Specs:
     When ordering please specify firearm make, model, barrel length, right or left draw, straight or cross draw, if adjustable sight firearm, color (from list above and "Color Chart"), tooling, if any (see "Border Tooling Samples") and butt forward or butt rearward (cavalry).

     A classic northern plains pattern with a side skirt and a double loop made famous by saddle makers such as Frank Meana.

Texan
     A southern plains style loop holster that has a half-length skirt and single loop. The profile of the holster is slim and graceful. Made for a civilian (butt rearward) carry, cartridge firearm.

Hunter
     A slim jim holster that works well with a Buscadero belt or traditional cartridge belt.  The belt loop accommodates the widest of belts and is held to the holster body by a narrow strap and brass harness buckle.  Made for a civilian (butt rearward) carry, cartridge firearm.

     This cap and ball Colt holster was copied from an original by the San Francisco company Main & Winchester.  The Cartridge version is a later era California pattern.  Made for civilian (butt rearward) carry.
